Value Added Network - a third party supplier that receives EDI transmissions from trading partners and holds them in a mailbox until retrieved by the receiving trading partners.

Value Added Reseller - a company that sells on someone else's software (say) usually into the mid-market perhaps small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs). Most software companies employ VARs to sell their product to smaller companies because its uneconomical for them to do it themselves. Also Value Added Retailer.

Vendor Managed Inventory - the practice of retailers making suppliers responsible for determining order size and timing, usually based on receipt of retail POS and inventory data. Its goal is to increase retail inventory turns and reduce stock outs. Also used outside of retail to replenish steel stocks, say.
