- Value Added Network - a third party supplier that receives EDI
transmissions from trading partners and holds them in a mailbox until
retrieved by the receiving trading partners.

- Value Added Reseller - a company that sells on someone else's
software (say) usually into the mid-market perhaps small to medium sized
enterprises (SMEs). Most software companies employ VARs to sell their product to smaller companies because its uneconomical for them
